For USSA's new equipment rules please go here -

Mountainside Ski & Sports is not only a retail ski shop. We are also a designated Race center for Rossignol and Nordica ski equipment! On staff we have several registered USSA race coaches with years of experience as USSA and Collegiate racers. No matter what type of racer you are we can get you set up with the right equipment.

What does being a designated race center mean? Well, for one thing it means that we are able to have race stock skis right from the race rooms at Rossignol and Nordica! We also carry the best race skis from Atomic, Fischer, and Dynastar.

Race Service: We don't just simply stock race skis and equipment! We have the ability to stone grind and service those skis as well. Doing a speed event at Sugarloaf and need a fine structure for cold-dry snow? Or, are you heading up to the Sugar Slalom at Stowe to score some low points courtesy of UVM and need a open structure for wet granular snow? Well, either of these grinds would be no problem for us to do, we will help you decide exactly what type of base structure you need to for any type of condition!

Tuning: In order to be fast you have to keep those burrs off your edges and keep those bases soaked with wax. Because we know what a difference a good tune can have on your ability to go fast, we carry a full selection of tuning equipment and wax from Swix. File guides, Diamond stones, HF/LF/Ch waxes, and more. Feel free to ask any us about the difference in waxes and edge degrees, we are more than happy to help you get the leg up on the other racers.

Boot Work: It's not only important to have the right skis and boots though. You need to have the right stance alignment in order to achieve a "flat ski". Without the proper stance alignment it is nearly impossible to achieve a flat ski. What this means is that you as a racer will not be able to have an immediate response from your skis. If you are bow-legged it will take you longer to roll the edge over and get a positive set, and if you are knock-kneed your edge can feel to grabby -any hesitation in the responsiveness from your skis/boots in gates can be the difference between making a clean arc with your skis or skidding through the turn. As we all know, tenths and even hundredths can make a crucial difference in ski racing. We make custom footbeds, do canting, and will align upper cuffs as well, click here to find out more about what Mountainside can do to help you achieve a flat ski and thereby improve your racing experience.
